Indiana Council of Teachers of English Revitalizes Annual Conference

On March 16, the CLE helped to support the Indiana Council of Teachers of English (ICTE) in hosting the newly reinstated, annual ICTE Conference at Park Tudor Elementary in Indianapolis, Indiana. CLE team member Dr. Mike Macaluso played a large role in the event, multiple professors from the CLE prepared presentations, and 3 current ACE Teaching Fellows also shared their knowledge at the conference.

Dr. Ernest Morrell Speaks at the Convention for the National Council of the Teachers of English

Dr. Ernest Morrell was featured as a speaker at multiple events at the National Council for the Teachers of English (NCTE) Convention in Houston, Texas. NCTE is the nation’s oldest organization of pre-K through graduate school literacy educators, and Dr. Morrell is the former president of the organization. His words inspired many at this year's conference.

Ernest Morrell — expert in critical educational theory, social movement theory, English education and African diaspora popular culture — has been appointed Coyle Professor in Literacy Education and inaugural director of the Center for Literacy Education in the University of Notre Dame’s Institute for Educational Initiatives.
